KAB-1500 炸彈是重 1500 公斤的導引與修正式航空炸彈系列，設計用於攻擊各種固定的陸上／水面小型堅固目標，如鋼筋混凝土掩體、軍工設施、倉庫與海港碼頭。
LG 改型配備雷射陀螺穩定導引頭。LG 系列包含 KAB-1500LG-F-E、1500LG 與 1500LG-OD-E 炸彈，分別配備高爆、穿混凝土或燃料空氣爆炸彈頭。KAB-1500LG 炸彈可由 Su-24M、Su-34、Su-35 等配備目標雷射照射系統的前線飛機投放，也可由配備簡易準直瞄準具的其他載機投放，利用地面照射進行預先目標標定，日夜皆可。
KAB-1500LG-Pr-E 是配備穿透型彈頭的型號，用於攻擊固定的小型、極堅固的掩埋目標，如堅固的混凝土設施、指揮所與彈藥庫。

The KAB-1500 bombs are guided and corrected air bomb family with weight of 1500 kg. The bombs designed to engage various stationary ground/surface small-sized hardened targets, such as reinforced concrete shelters, military industrial installations, depots, and seaport terminals.
The LG modification equipped the laser gyro-stabilized seeker. The LG series contains KAB-1500LG-F-E, 1500LG and 1500LG-OD-E bombs with HE, concrete piercing or fuel-air explosions warheads. The KAB-1500LG bombs can be dropped from front-line aircrafts like Su-24M, Su-34, Su-35 etc. equipped with the target laser illumination system as well as other carriers equipped with simple collimator sights for preliminary target designation (using target ground illumination) day and night.
KAB-1500LG-Pr-E is a variant with penetrating warhead to engage starionary small and extremely strong buried targets like strong concrete objects, command points, ammunition depots.
