The lightweight nuclear bomb RN-28 was being developed in the middle of 60s and entered service in 1969. The bomb could be deployed from a number of Soviet-made tactical aircraft. The bombing altitude was from 500 to 3000 m, in level flight or while climbing. The bomb was removed from operational status in 1990.
